Indeed, not even Shakespeare could have predicted that Hathaway would star in a rom com with such a resemblance to Godzilla it was sued by the studio – let alone one that looks actually pretty good.
Colossal starts pretty typically: Anne Hathaway plays Gloria, whose boyfriend is sick of her drinking so much that she turns into a demon from hell on a routine basis. Until she literally – literally – wakes up one morning with a psychic connection to a monster terrorising South Korea.
Yes, our feelings about Colossal's premise can be summed up as hmm... But we've got a lot of faith in Hathaway (almost as much as Shakespeare had), and if this movie can stick to the weirdness of its high-concept premise then it might end up a cult classic.
