Christmas Film Screening atop the Shard

It's Christmas time, which as all Londoners know, means buttery mince pies, an impenetrable Oxford Street and – most importantly – an outpouring of Christmas film screenings around the city.

Of all the screenings, few are as exciting and quintessentially English as The Extraordinary Travelling Film Show's pop-up cinema on the 69th floor at The View from The Shard – the UK's highest cinema – which offers extraordinary views of London that only Father Christmas usually gets to see.

The Extraordinary Travelling Film Show have tastefully elected to show the original Miracle on 34th Street, 1947, which beats the later Richard Attenborough adaptation every time. Directed by George Seaton and starring Maureen O’Hara, John Payne and a very young Natalie Wood, Miracle on 34th Street tells the story of a little girl and a lawyer who set out to prove that Santa Claus is real.
