Situated a stone’s throw from Camden Town tube, Cecil Sharp House is a dedicated folk arts centre. Dating back to 1930 and named after the founding father of the folklore revival in 20th century England, the Grade II listed building is home to the English FolkDance and Song Society. It’s in the final stages of a major renovation process, so visitors will be some of the first to see the new layout. There’s also England’s national collection of folk dance and music, the Vaughan Williams Memorial Library to check out on site. If you decide to wander down the canal during the day, we’d recommend popping into The Engineer for a quick drink; it’s a lovely pub and just a four-minute walk away along Gloucester Avenue and across from one of the access points to the canal path. Read our reviews and recommendations to help you book the best events and experiences at Cecil Sharp House - Culture Whisper has all the latest show, exhibition, restaurant, market and festival details in one place, plus much more!
