The Royal Albert Hall, London's grandest Victorian venue, is nestled at the northern end of South Kensington. It was opened by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband in 1871. It's been the home of the proms since 1941, and regularly hosts the biggest names in rock, pop, comedy, theatre and dance.
