It was ex-Artistic Director Josie Rourke who brought the Bush to its new space, just a short walk from Shepherd’s Bush Common. Back when it first opened in the '70s, it was in the rather less impressive upstairs dining room of the Bush Hotel. Since then, it has launched the careers of playwrights such as Stephen Poliakoff, Robert Holman, David Edgar and Sharman MacDonald and is a haven of a venue for new writers. Madani Younis's appointment as Artistic Director in 2012 resulted in shows being performed to 99% capacity. Book here for tickets.
