Born in Guyana, South America, Bowling headed to London to study at the Royal College of Art and joined the ranks of celebrated British Pop artists in the 1950s. As the swinging '60s hit, Bowling moved to New York where he embraced the vibrant abstraction movement of and laid to rest any remnants of his Pop influences to rest.
