Some of the world's biggest artists come to Soho this winter for Animality, an exhibition that explores humanity's relationship with animals.
We've always been beguiled by them. Cave paintings reveal we've cohabited with animals for thousands upon thousands of years. We domesticate them, mythologize them, worship them, sacrifice them, abuse them.
They have always been part of our visual culture - and as the numerous contemporary artworks at Marian Goodman attest, they still are. We have John Baldessari, Abraham Cruzvillegas, Elmgreen & Dragset Yinka Shonibara. Look out for Steve McQueen's horse and Dürer's rhino.
A selection of texts around the so-called 'animal-question' will also feature, including works from Nietzche Heidegger, Derrida, Foucault and (of course) Darwin.
