London's galleries are reopening
The London art scene is cautiously re-opening it doors to the public. Numbers will be limited to maintain social distancing and some galleries are asking visitors to wear masks.
London's larger galleries remain closed for now, but we can expect a similar system of reduced visiting numbers and staggered entry times when they do.
Museums in other parts of the world offer clues to what we can expect in the UK. The Louvre in Paris, for example, is putting up signs throughout its galleries to guide visitors and reduce overcrowding, while others, such as the Scuderie del Quirinale in Rome, are chaperoning visitors in groups of six.
Art viewing post lockdown is going to be a different experience, requiring patience, flexibility and a great deal of preparation from the galleries. Here are the commercial galleries opening their doors this month.
