This is Khalili's first ever solo London show, following those at MoMA and Palais de Tokyo. Spare and precise, her videos explore the Mediterranean area as seen by from a nomadic existence. She combining maps with stories, pitching the lived experience of emigration with the flatness of geographic map.
This Lisson show brings together the multi-channel Mapping Journey Project, a silkscreen project called The Constellation Series and the multimedia Foreign Office.
Never patronising, always precise - politics give way to storytelling in Khalili's work. A real find.
