Hearing Voices is a mixed media song cycle that combines solo voice, strings and the recorded voices of real-life testimonies from women sufferers of mental illness across generations.
Composer Jocelyn Pook’s reputation is assured in a list of credits that includes writing for stage, screen, theatre and concert hall. Alongside two British Composer Awards (BASCA), she has been the recipient of a Golden Globe and an Olivier Award. Accompanying her piece will be visual installations by videographer Dragan Aleksic.
With one of only four showings already sold out, Hearing Voices promises to be a packed event.
