To mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Potter (1866-1945) last summer the V&A hosted an exhibition exploring the life and work of the celebrated writer.
The V&A is not the only institution celebrating her 150th birthday. The Royal Mint has unveiled a new set of coloured 50p coins featuring illustrated characters from Potter's tales.

The new designs include portraits of characters such as Peter Rabbit, Jeremy Fisher, Benjamin Bunny and Tom Kitten. Uncoloured 50p coins will also be issued.

The new coins were created by Royal Mint designer Emma Noble, who worked on the 2016 set and pieces commemorating the Diamond Jubilee and Remembrance Sunday.
Born in Kensington, Potter regularly visited local galleries and museums – including the V&A, where she studied and copied vintage prints and drawings.
Beatrix Potter sketch: V&A
The exhibition features original sketches and many of Potter's earliest published works.
This is a glorious way to introduce young children to both Potter's artistry and her stories, a great indoor activity for children this Easter holidays.
