Parks and Recreation's Nick Offerman, is joining Sherlock and Doctor Who writer Mark Gatiss and Steve Pemberton in the new six-part television show Good Omens currently filming in South Africa.
Launching on Amazon Prime Video in 2019 and arriving on BBC Two shortly afterwards, Good Omens is an adaptation of the best-selling novel by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, starring (of course) Jon Hamm, he of Mad Men, Baby Driver, Bridesmaids and (for eagle eyed viewers) Parks and Recreation fame.
Gatiss and Pemberton will be taking on the roles of mysterious book-buyers – called Harmony and Glozier – and joining Michael Sheen and David Tennant who are also currently shooting in location.
On joining the cast Mark Gatiss says: “I’m delighted to be working with David and Michael again and of course with Steve - bringing a little film noir menace to such an exciting project. Being bad never felt so good!”
On his casting in the role of Gabriel Jon Hamm said: 'I read Good Omens almost twenty years ago. I thought it was one of the funniest, coolest books I'd ever read. It was also, obviously, unfilmable. Two months ago Neil sent me the scripts, and I knew I had to be in it.'
Jon Hamm's Gabriel will be leader of the angels, and so necessarily the most stylish of them all. A light powdery blue jacket designed to bring out 'violet' eyes and that famous, strong chin. He looks like an angel to us.
