Starring Hugh Laurie (he of House fame, for those Americans not familiar with his work in Blackadder and A Bit of Fry and Laurie), Chance airing on Universal Channel (you might need to scroll down your TV channels to find it) follows a San Fransciso-based forensic neuropsychiatrist who finds himself stuck in a violent and dangerous world of mistaken identity.
Following a bad decision that includes engaging the services of a patient who may, or may not, have a vicious multiple personality disorder, Chance finds himself at war with the patient's abusive spouse, who is – naturally – also a police detective.
Expect to enter a world of lies, corruption, mental illness and deceit and – pleasingly – lots of people calling Hugh Laurie 'doctor' once again.
Reviews coming out of America tell us to expect excellent acting from Laurie, who marauds about with an air of knowing weariness and a rougher, angrier American growl than he had as House.
