CATEGORY WINNER 2017, PLANTS AND FUNGI
The stunning beauty of the vegetation indigenous to the fjords of Norway swept the Plants and Fungi category. Although the image resembles a close-up, it actually depicts a forest of downy birch trees glowing gold in the autumnal light. The trees manage to grow even on the precarious 200-metre drop down the cliff face.
EOS 650D 70 – 200mm f4 lens at 100mm; 1/100 sec at f5.6 (-1e/v); ISO 200; Manfrotto tripod.
