A dip in Hampstead Heath Bathing Ponds is a rite of passage to which all Londoners should treat themselves at some point during their tenure. (And on discovering their lush, tranquil delights, most will return year after year.) The good news is, the ponds are back in action. The bad news? Slots have been booking up practically as soon as they've been announced. And in a move that's seriously irked regulars, a new compulsory £4 charge has been brought in for adult swims, replacing the former £2 honesty box admission fee. Still, if you're able to nab a window, enjoying a far less crowded pond swim has got to be worth the 50% price increase, right?
