Our favourite looks from Paris Couture Week
We are such stuff as dreams are made of: flounces, ruffles, sequins, beading, embroidery. In Paris, petits mains hand-sew hundred thousand pound dresses for the annual Couture Week. With strict entrance requirements, the fashion houses who show have serious credentials. Choosing our favourites was impossible.
Dior, under a new female director, Maria Grazia Chiuri, began the show by sending hooded black robes down the catwalk. This sombre start was soon cast away, and the rest of the show revealed magical gowns embroidered with star signs and flowers in pale, immaculately cut A-line shapes, and one dreamy tangerine number at the end.
