Why go? Every year, The Serpentine gallery, right in the middle of Hyde Park, invites an internationally renowned architect to come and create their first structure in England. The resulting pavilion can be enjoyed by all park visitors for the summer. In a park with ice cream in the sun – it's the most relaxing way to experience cutting-edge architecture.
What happened last year? Francis Kéré pavilion, inspired by a baobab tree in his childhood village in Burkina Faso, was 2017's entry, and proved a great meeting place for people before they queued to see Grayson Perry's exhibition.
