GREEN TEA MATCHA LATTE
Matcha latte is a great alternative to coffee and give you the boost and energy your are looking for without the jitters. Matcha tea is it high very high in antioxidants, vitamin A, C, iron, amino acids, and chlorophyll. L-theanine, one of the main component of matcha tea, has a calming effect on the mind and body.
FULL RECIPE:
INGREDIENTS
Serves 1
1/2 tsp of matcha powder
1 cup/mug of organic or plant based milk (almond and brown rice milk are my favourite)
Optional:
1 tsp of honey or maple syrup
METHOD
Add half a teaspoon of matcha tea powder to a small amount of hot milk into a cup or a mug.
Pour a little bit of organic or plant based milk (on top of the matcha powder.
Mix well with a traditional japanese bamboo whisk, a hand-held milk frother, or a small whisk to avoid any lumps.
Pour remaining milk and stir. Add honey or maple syrup if you like it sweeter.
You can make it hot or iced.
Enjoy, relax and focus!
Matcha tea is also great in green smoothies, nut milks and cakes. Have a look at my matcha energy bites, you'll love them too.
