Book for a bold new season at Young Vic Theatre
He's young, he's fun and he's here to make theatre a part of everyone's agenda. 'I didn't come into theatre to create for the 4%' announced Kwame Kwei-Armah at his first press conference as artistic director of the Young Vic. 'I want to make this theatre as open as humanly possible to every demographic and every interlocking community'. Building on the theatre's bright reputation for accessibility, community engagement and generally thinking outside the box, Kwei-Armah's first season is intentionally interesectional. The first three shows coming to the main stage bring tradition, joy and state-of-the-nation politics, with an exuberant Shakespeare musical and two potent modern classics.
Public booking for the Young Vic new season opens at 10am on Monday 23 April.
