The four-hander is, as the title suggests, a study of infidelity, and is set to be intensified by the intimacy of the performance space. Stage and screen regulars Sean Campion (Borgia, Stones in his Pockets) and Niamh Cusack (Heartbeat, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time) play a middle-aged couple in a stale marriage. But then a proposition from a young woman, played by Ruth Gedmintas (The Tudors), sets off a trajectory into unfaithfulness that includes in a male escort (Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis).
The play premiered to warm reviews at 2014's Edinburgh Fringe as was described as a raw and honest exploration of the nuanced strains of a longterm relationship. The plot may not always follow the most credulous twists, but dialogue is a sharply observed playwright McCafferty makes the perennial topic of betrayal feel fresh.
