After the Sochi Olympics, and the ongoing events in Ukraine, modern Russia is on everyone’s radar. With perfect timing, the Old Red Lion plays host to Donkey Heart. A comedy which follows a modern Moscow family whose domestic life is overshadowed by Russian communism’s long hang over.
Directed by Nina Raine and written by her brother Moses, Donkey Heart is sure to continue the siblings’ success. Nina is a writer/director of blazing force - since working as an assistant director at The Royal Court in 2000, she has premiered award-winning plays internationally. Her brother is an up and coming writer winning acclaim for his plays and currently adapting a short story by Ian McEwan for film.
