Custom/Practice is a young and innovative company specialising in Shakespearean productions. Their original and thoughtful interpretations of As You Like It , Twelfth Night , A Midsummer Night’s Dream and many more have seen them garner increasing attention since their premiere of Romeo and Juliet in 2010.
Custom/Practice now bring Richard III back to life just as his actual remains are being dug-up and re-buried, having been finally discovered by archaeologists last year. While history continues to be debated - was Richard actually a good king after all? - Shakespeare's line is clear, and Richard really did lop off his nephews.
This promises to be a lush, modern production by a company praised for their intelligent renderings of Shakespeare. The title role will be taken by Noof Ousellam, who will be appearing in the film Leave2Remain with Toby Jones this year. Custom/Practice work with interesting and extremely talented actors that have included Tara Fitzgerald (Waking the Dead, I Capture the Castle) and Victoria Yeates (Call the Midwife.) In the heart of central London, this is a fringe production of a malevolent king’s rise and fall not to be missed.
