The show is the brainchild of the multi-talented writer/director/performer Chris Goode , who's gaining a reputation for particularly intelligent and experimental theatre. He caught critical attention with this year’s fringe hit Men in Cities , which sold out at the Royal Court . Goode will not be performing in Longwave, but is bringing back Tom Lyall and Jamie Wood, the cast from the show’s successful 2006 outing.
75 minutes of physical theatre may sound rather intense, but Longwave employs a number of tactics to keep an audience engaged, including music and the classic clown techniques of game play. If Lyall and Wood get the balance right, this wordless show has the potential to be what all fringe theatre strives towards – a neat, beautiful and moving piece of storytelling.
