It may have a lengthy title, but See Rock City & Other Destinations is a fresh new musical about to start a strictly two-week run at The Union Theatre. Fresh from an off-Broadway stint, which received six Drama Desk Nominations including Outstanding Musical, Outstanding Lyrics and Outstanding Music, See Rock City is now being brought to London by Aria Entertainment for the UK premiere.
Blending a range of genres, from pop to rock to folk, See Rock City tells the story of connections missed and made at tourist destinations across America. The audience is taken on a musical road trip to New Mexico, Coney Island, Niagara Falls and more as the characters’ stories combine to create a colourful travelogue of fears and dreams.
Aria Entertainment has a track record of producing lesser known, new pieces of musical theatre and See Rock City’s uplifting storyline should be an enjoyable addition to their repertoire. Following rave reviews from Broadway, this is one not to be missed for fans of the West End who fancy being ahead of the curve.
