As a part of the Southbank Centre’s Women of the World festival, Hera Master Come Down gives a unique and eye-opening insight into contemporary performance poetry. Innovative artist-cum-writer Ntiense Eno Amooquaye celebrates her first solo exhibition with a lively performance of new works. The writing was inspired by a year of work with the Saison Poetry Library and draws upon a rich variety of influences, spanning Anne Ryland, John Betjeman and Benjamin Zephaniah.
Amooquaye is a member of Intoart, the groundbreaking London-based art collective, which is shaped around an ethos of equality and opportunity within the art world. This democratic approach to creativity is evident in the eclectic yet accessible vibe of the exhibition. Combining popular and high culture, and collating visual, written and spoken word through images, text and live performance, she promises to be a thought-provoking and stimulating speaker.
