New Yorker Mark Doty has been recognized as one of the most accomplished posts in America since the publication of his first volume of verse, Turtle, Swan, a work exploring gay identity. He has been honoured with multiple awards including the National Book Award for Poetry, and was the first American poet to win the T.S. Eliot Award. His recently published Deep Lane, descends both to the earth beneath the garden, and into the dark substrata of life. It ranges from agony to rapture, from great depths to hard-won heights.
Ruth Padel poems
British poet and conservationist Ruth Padel, is the first Writer in Residence at the Royal Opera House. Her work is wonderfully varied, from her recent book, The Mara Crossing/ ON MIGRATION, a meditation on migration in prose and poetry, to T.S. Eliot Award shortlisted Learning to Make an Oud in Nazareth, a book on conflict, harmony and creativity, with a central sequence on the Seven Last Words of Christ from the cross.
