Enjoy the Geffrye Museum’s historic rooms by candlelight this November. The night, which offers an unusual alternative to traditional Halloween celebrations, has been designed to explore the ways in which previous generations entertained themselves at home.
The Shoreditch institution will be playing host to an evening of spine tingling readings and live music, with ballads from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries also performed.
The evening’s events will be hosted in collaboration Oxford University’s Dr. Abigail Williams, a prestigious scholar of the eighteenth century, and Alva theatre group, who will be bringing the evening to life.
Set in secluded eighteenth century almshouses off the Kingsland Road, the Geffrye Museum provides the perfect setting for an eerie encounter with lives from the past. We only hope you aren’t afraid of the dark.
