On the 5th December 2013 superstar dancer Carlos Acosta will be discussing his first novel Pig’s Foot . This magical realist tale follows its orphaned hero, Oscar Kortico, through Cuba’s tumultuous history from the arrival of slaves through the wars of independence, to dictatorship, Bacardi rum, revolution. Acosta has proved himself a masterful storyteller as well as a brilliant dancer, and we’re eager to hear the story behind this first work. His esteemed publisher Bill Swainson, the man responsible for helping literary talents including the eminent W. G. Sebald into print in English, will be on hand to lead the discussion.
