Every month, 40 Winks owner and dandy extraordinaire David Carter invites a small number of guests through the door of his seventeenth century townhouse and into his bohemian world. In the glamour of a trinket-filled, boudoir-dim parlour, pyjama-clad revellers assemble for a night of tales and cocktails. This June, professional yarn-spinner Nell Phoenix, will regale with some ‘deliciously naughty stories’.
Only in London could these thoroughly individual events take place. They are the very definition of English eccentricity - and Mr Carter is hospitality personified.
Live music and delicious nibbles complete this unique evening. But, with such naughtiness in store, don’t expect to be sent to sleep
