Beige, sexy and sporty: Jacquemus X Nike collaboration drops
Following a mesmerising show in a salt mine in Camargue that drew inspiration from his upcoming wedding, French designer du jour Simon Porte Jacquemus -- you may remember his fashion show in a lavender field of Haute Provence -- is launching a sports line with Nike.
With only a few teasers released on the Jacquemus Instagram account, the highly anticipated collaboration has been kept a secret until today.
The 15-piece collection presented during the show in Camargue is decidedly vintage. Muted-coloured, it includes elements of lingerie, socks, gloves, a white dress with a leather strap adorned with a gold Nike swoosh and reimagined Nike Humara trainers, originally released in 1997.
Jacquemus said he had always been 'inspired by vintage ACG pieces and Nike campaigns from the '90s. Having this imagery in mind, we designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colours.'
The collaboration will be available on the Jacquemus website today and later this summer in Nike's selected stores and networks.
The two brands will keep working together as part of an ongoing partnership through the 2024 Olympic games in Paris. More to come...
