More than 40 singers and players will be performing live from their own quarantines around the world. Met general manager Peter Gelb hosts the event in New York City, with the help of music director Yannick Nézet-Séguin in Montreal.
How’s this for a roll-call of opera royalty calling in to the prestigious Lincoln Centre? The sopranos singing the great arias include Angel Blue, Renée Fleming, Pretty Yende, and Sonya Yoncheva, plus Last Night of the Proms star mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton.

Expect something amazing, too, from counter-tenor Anthony Roth Costanza, star of ENO and the Met’s Akhnaten.
Tenors include Roberto Alagna, Laurence Brownlee, Joseph Calleja and Royal Opera favourite tenor Michael Fabiano, and there’s a rare joint appearance by baritone Sir Bryn Terfel and his wife the harpist Hannah Stone.
