Symphonies at the heart of classical music and inventive new sounds herald the first whole week of Proms
The World Orchestra for Peace performs Beethoven's monumental last symphony with its closing Ode to Joy chorus sung by the BBF Proms Youth Choir. Soloists include the soprano Erin Wall (pictured) and the concert opens with a new piece for the young voices, and Benjamin Britten's second world war elegy, Sinfonia da Requiem.
