The best summer pop-ups London has to offer: 2018 edition

From a glamorous masked ball and tropical beach club to a chance to dine with your legs dangling in the sky, these are the exciting pop-ups London is home to this summer.

The tropical one: Fulham Beach Club

Escape to the beach without even leaving London this summer at Fulham Beach Club. At this stylish Thameside beach venue, guests can lounge on daybeds, enjoy bottomless brunch, take part in yoga on the beach or sip cocktails in a rented beach hut. Jimmy Garcia's BBQ Club and Pineapple Pizza will be serving up tasty dishes, meanwhile live DJs will be helping get the party started. Throw in glitter, sand sculpting and games of the Shuffleboard and Beer Pong variety, and this becomes a party you won’t want to miss.

For the foodie: KERB summer lates

From Friday 20 July and for seven weeks only, KERB street food market in Camden will be open late, so punters can enjoy the 34 top-quality street food traders’ delicacies after dark. From Oli Baba’s halloumi fries to Kolkati’s hot masala rolls and Club Mexicana’s tacos, KERB hosts several favourites of the London street food scene. Cocktails, local beers and several London DJs are also being imported on Friday nights, injecting a party vibe.

The glamourous one: The Great Masked Ball

Don your mask and waltz through the glittering halls of Prince Siegfried's palace at the Great Masked Ball, London's immersive Swan Lake experience. Be among the lucky travellers to tumble into this fantasy realm of theatre, ballet, gastronomy and music, and return with your soul ablaze. Culture Whisper members get a free bottle of champagne with every six tickets bought.

The pool party one: Lido Lates

Much beloved by South Londoners, Brockwell Lido is a Grade II listed complex perched on the edge of Brockwell Park. This summer, the pool is hosting a series of Lido Lates events; here, guests can splash about on funky floats, lounge on old-school striped sunbeds, sip cocktails while listening to carefully curated beats and try the eclectic street food menu devised by acclaimed in-house chef, Lily Ferguson-Mahan.

The dark and mysterious one: Pitch Black

In this quirky, sensory experience, you’ll find yourself relying heavily on your sense of taste and smell for guidance, as you sip cocktails in total darkness. Developed by drink industry veteran Lee Baker, this 90-minute, multi-sensory adventure aims to shift the focus away from presentation and onto flavour, aroma and texture. Guests will initially enter a warmly lit space, be formally introduced to their server and have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with their surroundings before the lights go down.

The botanical one: Granary Square Brasserie’s Physic Garden

Head to Granary Square Brasserie’s Physic Garden – incidentally the largest outdoor dining space in north London – where ‘Physic’ herbs and plants including Lavender, Sage, Jasmine, Peppermint and Chamomile are being celebrated, in the bar’s collaboration with Fever Tree. This pop-up with its innovative G&T menu is a chance to taste how herbal garnishes come into their own when mixed with the quintessentially British tipple.

The ‘don’t look down’ one: London in the sky

Not for the faint-hearted or those scared of heights – Events in the Sky offer brave souls a unique experience to dine at a table suspended high in the sky. Strap yourself into your seat and prepare to be lifted 100ft into the air, along with your dinner table and fellow guests, via a mobile crane. This truly is a dinner party with a difference, but once you’re up, you’re up – so remember: don’t look down.

The designer one: Nextgen: Experiences Concept Store 2018

A three-week long concept store has landed in Covent Garden this July, showcasing the work of 20 independent fashion, accessories & lifestyle labels under one co-curated roof. The pop-up stocks goods from Conflict of Ego’s thought-provoking womenswear which promotes free thinking, Fruity Booty's body positive, barrier crushing underwear, jewellery handmade from recycled bike inner tubes by Ware London and plenty more.

The nautical one: L’Azur

If you haven’t booked a holiday to the French Riviera this summer and have no plans to head off to Yacht Week in Croatia, fear not. The Four Seasons Hotel on Park Lane has teamed up with Belvedere Vodka and Dom Pérignon to create L’Azur, an exclusive yacht-themed pop-up. Decked out with buoys, anchors and nautical-inspired terraces – featuring both an upper and lower deck – this is a prime spot for catching the summer rays and pretending you’ve got the water lapping at the shores close by. L’Azur’s mixologist-heavy crew will be creating new concoctions for guests to sip on throughout the summer, while a specially-curated Les Petites Bouchées menu will provide plenty to stick your teeth into.

The Green-fingered one: Swoon and Patch present The Green House
