Zoorasic Park will consist of life-size animatronic dinosaurs. Many of these dinosaurs have featured in the blockbuster films, from the timid Triceratops to the terrifying Tyrannosaurus Rex. Guides will be there to help visitors spot crowd favourites, like the Brachiosaurus, or take them through an encounter with the armour-plated Edmontonia.
The zoo will be hosting two special events to celebrate the launch of the dinosaur-dominated exhibition. The first event, Dinosaurs LIVE!, will be a show with children's TV presenter Andy Day, taking place on 22 and 23 July. The second event, summer sleepovers, is available on select Saturdays in August and September. Kids can spend a night in the Zoo and enjoy a tour of both prehistoric and contemporary animals.
The exhibition aims to educate kids and families about the fascinating world of dinosaurs, as well as the work being done to prevent today’s animals from extinction. Families will be issued passports to complete as they peruse the museum, and there will be fun trails and fossil digs to ensure kids get as much hands-on experience in the world of dinosaurs as possible.
