When it comes to artists, Vincent Van Gogh is one of the more appealing characters: lovely yellow sunflowers, lots of self-portraits (one of the original selfie-takers, perhaps?) and a great backstory (it's amazing how cutting off your own ear, then painting yourself bandaged, piques a child's interest instantly).
Imagine Art Club offers tours of the exhibition every fortnight on Sundays and some additional days during school holidays – while most of the ultra-popular Van Gogh tours are sold out, we're delighted that on 15 April, 2019 at 10:30am, Culture Whisper members will be invited to attend.
The EY Exhibition: Van Gogh and Britain brings together over 45 works from Van Gogh including popular paintings like Sunflowers (1888) and Starry Night on the Rhône (1888), as well as a selection of other paintings from artists inspired by the post-Impressionist.
The tour is suitable for children 5-11 (in small groups of five with two educators) and includes discussion and art: drawing and sticking in the Van Gogh activity book designed especially for this exhibition.
Yellow paint at the ready.
