On 24 June 2017, ZSL London and Whipsnade Zoos invite children and their families to experience the magic of the Zoo animals after-hours, away from the usual daytime crowds and hot summer sun, when the animals are at their most relaxed and taking themselves off to bed.
All around the zoo, there's animal talks and demonstrations, safari truck rides, and hot food. All the while families enjoy a safari adventure across the Zoos bathed in fairy lights and animal lanterns.
There are plenty of creatures to spot: London Zoo boasts more than 750 species from around the world, including Galapagos tortoises, pygmy hippos, gorillas and lemurs, bound to be a favourite of any child who has seen Madagascar.
London Zoo Tours
Self-guided London Zoo tours are available for visitors, with a packed programme of animal feeds and talks about the creatures. Visitors can hunt down the zoo's Wild Talks or Science Stations staffed with ZSL’s conservationists, scientists and keepers, bursting with tales from the field and all the information even the most curious kid (and adult) could have about the animals in the zoo.
For those who want to learn more about the animal kingdom, there are limited places available on Guided Safari Tours and you can visit the Zoo’s individual animals with an expert.
