There’s hands-on fun for budding artists aged 6+ at the Royal Academy this half term. The gallery’s Sensing Spaces exhibition – a fascinating reimagination of the way architecture shapes our everyday experiences – is one of the most engaging and absorbing big-name shows of the year so far. Coinciding with it this February are two special Art of Architecture Family Workshops (Tuesday 18 and Thursday 20 February) giving you and the kids the chance to explore some of the world’s most weird and amazing houses, churches, sports stadia and museums. These two half day sessions are artist-led, giving kids and grown-ups the chance to turn their own hand to making beautiful buildings. They’re hugely popular, so on all accounts pre-book on 020 7300 5995.
Sessions run from 10:15am to 1pm, costing £3 per child and £10 per adult (reductions available for Friends of the RA).
