A free family festival celebrating the best of London's theatre and literature with inspirational writers and top West End performers.
To mark the launch of Kids Week , there's a fun-packed family day in Regent's Park Open Air Theatre . The launch party is full of fun activities for children of all ages, including a theatrical tea part with the War Horse Puppets , question and answer session with West End stars such as the cast of Matilda and Billy Elliot . Then, for those with more bookish tastes there will be special appearances from acclaimed writer Jacqueline Wilson , whose novel Hetty Feather has been adapted for the stage . Author Judith Kerr will also be on hand to talk about the transformation of her classic picture book, The Tiger Who Came to Tea, into a hit play.
Children can emulate the stars with stage make up demonstrations (expect to see lots of little tigers, elephantoms and aliens) and learn how to belt out a song like a Les Mis star in the big West End sing-along. As if that's not enough there's also plenty of games, crafts and activities to keep little ones buzzing with excitement.
Practical: This event is free, but you have to ballot for tickets by 5pm on 21st July. We recommend you ballot asap.
