All sorts of people have lived and worked (and been imprisoned) in the Tower over its 800 year history. But what is less well known are the animal residents who found themselves locked up there.
You might be surprised to hear that over its many years, the Tower of London has played host to everything from polar bears to porcupines, and there's plenty more of our furry friends to learn about, from the lions and leopards of King Henry III to the bears of James I.
Learn all about the animals in the tower in this free drop-in workshop and take part in The Big Draw by adding your own wild beast sketch to a present day menagerie.
The workshop is included in the palace admission price as part of both the Get Creative Family Arts Festival and the Family Learning Festival.
