Lovebox started out as a nightclub and has since grown into once of London's biggest music festivals. Thanks to its hedonistic fun with a beat background, Lovebox is less like a festival and more like a huge outdoor party.
This summer, it takes over a corner of Victoria Park in east London for two days with a great line-up of seasoned floor-fillers and electronic music innovators.
Lovebox 2017 line-up
The big names this year include headliner Frank Ocean, who moved to L.A. after the destruction of Hurricane Katrina and rose to prominence after dropping his debut mixtape via his blog in 2011.
His fellow headliners are Solange - Beyoncé's sister, Don't Touch My Hair singer - and Lovebox favourites, Chase & Status. Rapper Mac Miller and genre-bending artist Jamie XX are also main stage highlights. Rag 'n' Bone Man, the breakout artist of the past year, will also take to the main stage with his soulful hip hop.
What you need to know about Lovebox: a guide
Lovebox really comes into its own in the smaller stages and tents, where you'll find some of London clubland's best DJs and dance producers doing what they do best for an audience ready to dance for hours.
Catch chart-topping DJ Kaytranada, soulful R&B rapper Ray BLK, and funk masters Horse Meat Disco are all playing – but don't worry if you end up missing them, as the quality of the line-up is so high that you're bound to find something great at any point throughout the festival.
More intriguing additions to Lovebox this year include the all-girl creative collective, Born N Bread, known for advocating DIY culture, forming a zine, hosting radio shows, and producing music. There will be a roller disco, braid bar, and a glitter parlour. Pop-up eateries can be found in Victoria Park, from sushi to Buddha Bowls to Anna Mae's Mac and Cheese.
Those who want to live out their dreams of being a star onstage can participate in hip hop Karaoke - a national fixture that lets you perform and feel the crowd's energy while taking on rhymes of your favourite rappers on a Lovebox stage.
There's no need to leave London to get your festival kicks this summer: just head to Victoria Park and join the party (don't forget to book -tickets still available).
