Innovative electro-swing duo The Correspondents are leading the charge at Brixton Jamm in August on an electro night alongside Karl Phillips and Beats in Abundance
Formed in 2007, it was the two piece's legendary live sets that made their name. Debonair front-man Mr Bruce, by turns scatting, rapping and singing, prances around the stage in ever more elaborate costumes, dancing like a maniac, while bearded DJ Chucks lays down the neo-boogie drums, pianos, and synths.
Having toured for the last four years, The Correspondents finally released their debut album Puppet Loosely Strung in March this year. The record is a baffling hodgepodge of old and new, blending jazz and swing, with indie and electro. But it works.
On tracks like 'Fear and Delight' they open with a jiving beat and quick-fire vocals, breaking down with a deep bass wub - you can't help but be swept along. All that energy, swagger, and style will make Brixton Jamm the place to be on August 15th.
