Singer-songwriter Luke Sital-Singh is enjoying something of an annus mirabilis. He is yet to release his first album (his debut The Fire Inside will be released in August), but the youngster is already booked for a run of summer festival shows and will play his largest London headline date at Scala on September 10.
The Londoner signed a record deal with iconic British label Parlophone (known for first discovering The Beatles) last year after word of his impressive live set got around.
If you like Damien Rice, you'll love Luke Sital-Singh. Critics have fawned over the power of his voice (not to mention witty quips between songs). Poetic lyrics are backed by stripped-back guitar, percussion and perfected by rousing backing vocals. Stand out track 'I Have Been A Fire' starts a slow haunting love song before launching into heart wrenching vocals and harmonies while 'Bottled Up Tight' dances a story of human longing around toe-tapping finger-picked guitar.
