Titans of soft rock Coldplay will play two shows at the Royal Albert Hall this July.
Award-laden soft-rock giants Coldplay are coming to the Royal Albert Hall in July. But if you were hoping for blithe petitions to look at the stars, you’ll find them graver men.
In Coldplay’s latest album Ghost Stories, Chris Martin is telling his own side of the his infamous "conscious uncoupling" from Gwyneth Paltrow
On Magic, he laments, amidst a gentle, submerged-sounding drumbeat and occasional piano, "I don't want anybody else but you" in his own very earnest (but still very excellent) voice.
Other tracks, such as the ethereal Midnight, and the gently sliding guitars and keyboards of Ink ("Got a tattoo that said 'together through life'") show his love-struck sadness at the split.
Having been enacted in aspic through the media and now Ghost Stories, Coldplay's gig at the Royal Albert Hall is a chance to see Martin and Paltrow's breakup in vivo.
