For a large part of the past 40 years Blondie dominated the higher reaches of the charts with a pop-rock-punk fusion all of their own invention. Often cited as pioneers of the early new wave scene, the New Yorkers scored a long run of hits such as Heart of Glass, Call Me, Picture This, Dreaming, Atomic and One Way or Another and, eventually, a place in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Their new album Pollinator was only released on 5 May and the band shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Leading lady Debbie Harry shows us all that blondes of all ages still have more fun. Blondie's latest gig is a sure sign that this band are targeting a new generation of fans as well as keeping the veterans happy.
