Cosy, appropriately cellar-like and barebricked throughout, there's a choice of bar counter sitting, a long shared table and some limited private tables. Chicken liver pate is surely due for a major revival. This is textbook velvety and gloriously rich in flavour, topped with clarified butter, and tastes as if doused cognac. It is perfect scoffed on Hedone bread. As a main we share a glorious venison pie, perfect for soaking up a good Rhone wine. Plan accordingly, ensuring time, and room, for dessert. Whilst treacle tart is just fine, the dark chocolate pot is as rich as anyone who qppreciates fine chocolate would wish for. (and Alain Ducasse's eponymous Chocolate Shop is round the corner too).
Drop refers to both the wine measurement and the cool location within this new hub of cool shopping and dining. Look out for the oyster stall to find The Drop under a brick arch.
