The best vineyards in the UK to visit this summer
Gone are the days when premium vino was the reserve of the likes of southern France, California and South Africa’s wine regions. English wines are growing in popularity and to support our thirst for locally-grown grapes, English wineries and vineyards are expanding in acres, joining forces with one another and selling more bottles than ever before.
There’s even an English Wine Week now (25 May – 2 June this year), which aims to raise awareness and promote English wines across the country.
Blame global warming or even Brexit for the boom in British wines, if you wish, but don’t knock England's vineyards until you’ve tried a glass of their often superlative wines. From an ambling estate in Sussex to a new wine region in Surrey, here are the English vineyards worth visiting this summer.
