Swift, Shoreditch
Between its slick interiors, American-style service (quick, polite, friendly), ever buzzy atmosphere and stellar cocktail menu, it’s no wonder Swift made it onto the World's 50 Best Bars list just two years after opening in 2018. Now, the Soho favourite is opening a second branch in Shoreditch.
The bar has a similar look and feel to the ground floor of the original, boasting elegant furnishings, art deco touches and high chairs. Expanding the offering into an all-day affair, the venue serves artisan coffee and light bites during the day, including breakfast specials on St John’s sourdough and Neal’s Yard toasties. By night, it’s all about the cocktails, and frequenters of the Soho joint can look forward to menu favourites including Swift’s signature Irish coffee.
Part of the appeal of the original Swift is the downstairs bar, with its art-deco booths (which book up weeks in advance), late night vibes and live piano. While you won’t find an equivalent space at the Shoreditch bar, all of the above can be found a five-minute walk away at Nightjar, the cocktail bar also owned by Roisin Stimpson and Edmund Weil, who co-own swift with husband-and-wife team Mia Johansson and Bobby Hiddleston.
