Whether you want to meet the artist or be the artist, these immersive supper clubs offer fine dining with a twist
Studio Supper offers relaxed candlelit dinners in the studio of artist Catherine Goodman, with the aim of introducing diners to emerging artists and curators. In 2000 Catherine and King Charles founded the Royal Drawing School, a charity known for its free post-graduate drawing year. The school's alumni have so far been the focus of these immersive evenings, but future events will feature artists from a wide range of schools and backgrounds.
On arrival you will be offered a complimentary cocktail to sip while you meet fellow diners. Guests are then invited to sit down to an elegant three-course meal. As dessert is being prepared, you will hear from the artist and have the chance to ask questions. April's iteration saw Royal Drawing School graduate Alicja Biała take centre stage in conversation with curator Angelica Jopling. Every detail is attended to. The tables are artfully laid and the meals are beautifully presented. The whole concept is the brain child of Marina Leigh and chef Eleonor Barns Graham, who trained at Le Cordon Bleu. Tickets cost £65. Dietary requirements are catered for.

The school, which is sequestered in a leafy spot near Ruskin Park and looks a little like a scout hut (yes, you're in the right place), is the venue for an evening of lively company and good food. On arrival, you will be welcomed with a cocktail and given the chance to mingle with fellow diners before trying your hand at life drawing in an hour-long session guided by experienced tutor Simon Dunstan. Once the easels are cleared away, the tables are set for a four-course meal provided by Alexander Does Supper. Each course is paired with carefully chosen wines and special dietary requirements can be catered for. Tickets cost £60.

On arrival you’ll be offered a cocktail and the chance to meet your fellow diners. Layla will then match you with an artist. Over dinner you will get the chance to talk about the drawing process and what you want the artist to focus on (a full figure drawing or a portrait for example). The whole process is designed to be welcoming and relaxed and you are not expected to take your clothes off. What happens to the drawings at the end of the night is at the artist’s discretion. The menu is designed by chef and travel writer Josephine Price. Tickets cost £50.
