Opening in September on East London's Kingsland Road, Two Lights is named after the State Park in Maine, close to Lovecky's childhood home. It is the solo debut form the chef who previously worked at top US restaurants Jean-Georges and Momofuku Ko. Lovecky has been head chef at Clove Club – the highest UK restaurant entry at 33 in the World's 50 Best Restaurants – for the past three years.
The menu will include dishes such as Hereford beef tartare and togarashi; lemon sole, charred tomatoes, and seaweed (pictured below); and grilled mackerel, cherries, and black olives (pictured above).
The Michelin starred Clove Club – a restaurant born out of a supper club in Dalston, and a subsequent series of pop-ups – opened in Shoreditch Town Hall in 2013. It is owned by chef Isaac McHale, and joint front-of-house team Daniel Willis and Johnny Smith.
In November 2016, the trio opened a second ('British-Italian') restaurant, Luca, on St. John Street in Clerkenwell.
