If you fancy some good old comfort food, look no further than pop-up eatery When Mac Met Cheese .
After a few years of sporadic appearances on the London pop-up scene, this carby cheesy treat has found a semi-permanent home in Bayswater . So, until June you can indulge in some fancy fusions and extra special versions of this classic American dish.
Either keep it simple with cheddar, red Leicester, parmesan and nutmeg, or go for something a bit more adventurous. 'Carlos the Cactus' packs a punch into the mozzarella flavours with added jalapeños and sun-blush tomatoes. Carnivores need not worry: you can make a meaty mac by adding bacon lardons. Most mouth-watering of all is the long overdue fusion - 'Macachinis', or balls of mac 'n' chess a la Italian arancini risotto balls. If you're treating yourself, pudding looks particularly tempting, with belt-busting deep-friend Oreos, and the cocktail menu has old favourites, such as Bloody Marys and martinis.
It's might not be the wackiest or most innovative of pop-ups, but When Mac Met Cheese is a tasty twist on a timeless classic.
